I have Bedford Camera club to thank for having taken this shot - which turned out to be my favourite from my outing yesterday.
Whilst unable to meet, they, like many others, assuming that everyone is at home with lots of extra time on their hands, have dreamed up a whole raft of resources and activities to keep us all occupied.
Unfortunately this only serves to make me feel inadequate that I haven't found those excess hours and put them to extraordinary good and memorable use. Am I alone in this?
I happened to pick up, whilst in the process of deleting the extra 100 or so emails I now get daily, that they had a weekly theme of minimalism. I also happened to fantasise that I would make time to join in and submit some images this week. Instead, I just got as far as spotting this leaf and deciding to give it the limelight in a somewhat minimalistic composition.
No, you're not alone. Even though I've got more time on my hands now that I'm furloughed, the days seem to fly. In a positive way most of the time. The children keep me busy with their schoolwork and we integrate week themes set by school in other activities. I like doing it, so it's not a chore, but it takes up the morning and part of the afternoon. Then there is a (vegetable) garden, the cooking, the endless dishes :-). We all help no doubt, but the day is gone before you know it, and I haven't done my yoga, haven't started to learn Photoshop or done a new challenge!
so gorgeous. isolation in a nutshell. or something. i'm getting some things done, and others most definitely not! love all the different greens in your bokeh
This is such a wonderful poignant image to tell this story of isolation- beautiful bokeh... I have waves of anxiety but trying to hang in there.... so hang in there Helen my friend
You are not alone in your feelings, that’s for sure. However, I must add that you ARE putting your “excess hours to extraordinary good and memorable use” by sharing your insightful words and pictures. You may not realize it, but you brighten the lives of so many with your project. I, for one, am truly grateful.
our camera club has had 3 x zoom meetings , they have proved quite successful
And... you're not alone in making the most of extra time!
