Again, from last Sunday, becasue this Sunday has little to offer. The chinese water deer (I think) was spotted towards the end of our walk out in the fields - it was a while before it spied us but this was as close as I could creep up on it before the inevitable flight.
It has been a strange weekend - following the events of the news - working out what my own reaction and action should be - resolving to take some ownership.
I must have become so distracted that I promptly pulled out one of the few thriving plants that we have put in our garden, dismissing it as a weed. Both my husband and I were incredulous. We have had little enough success on the gardening front to date - the lawn seed hasn't germinated, the geraniums are distressed, the cabbages first got aphids and then have been consumed by pigeons - that for me to walk straght up to our thriving campanula and tear it straight out of the ground really does take the biscuit.
He's definitely spotted you. What a treat to see him though.
Sorry to hear your gardening hasn't gone to plan. Sometimes I think it's pot luck. I've had some disasters and successes with seeds I've grown this year - lots of lessons learned for next year. Don't give up.
Very nice shot!
A Chinese water deer - do these animals run about in wild?
I am familiar with your annoyances in the garden. Lice plague my flowers and fruit trees, not everything I sowed germinated; the strawberries not only taste good to me, but also to the snails.
I try good practice in serenity. I don't always succeed...
