small tortoiseshell by helenhall

small tortoiseshell

Since this small tortoiseshell in the next door neighbour's garden put on such a display for the taking, it would be rude not to share with you.

I had hoped to catch a rather splendid dragonfly that perched on the wooden fence as I was passing the allotments, but before I could sort the settings, I was obliged to stand aside to let a passer by pass by - and then it was gone.

Glad to have got out for half an hour as the sun showed up this afternoon, and to make a brief visit to Mum's grave with some flowers from the garden.
Lovely colour and detail.
