Well I wanted to pop in and say hello and wish you all a Merry Christmas.
What a year! There can not be many who haven't found it difficult or worrying. I am out of date with everyone's news, so I am hoping that one way or another, everyone is hanging on in there and hoping for more to celebrate in 2021.
I contemplate Christmas at home with a lot of excess food and preparations and unable to see my boys due to current covid restrictions. Barring a miracle, it will be my Father's last Christmas but I am unable to spend it with him either. Much as all this hurts, I am aware of how much worse my situation could be and how much I am thankful for. Yes, even in this year. Perhaps particularly in this year.
My wish for you all, is that out of the salvage of 2020 you can find a joyful song, and share it generously with the world. Just like our resident robin does as he sings his heart out.
I plan to pick up the camera again next year, and return. I just renewed membership - so I look forward to renewed engagement in this lovely community.
So nice hearing from you again, Helen. More and more i feel that this project is a community whose lives’ events are more important than their pictures. Nevertheless we’ll be waiting eagerly for your next pictures... and reflections on life. Merry Christmas!
such a beautiful image, helen. it makes me think of a piece of stained glass. lovely to hear from you - but so sorry that you can't be with your sons or your father :( we are in just the same position, also trying to count our blessings and think how lucky we are in many ways. i do hope you are able to find some peace and calm over the festive break - you have had such a worrying and wearying time. and here's to a brighter 2021, and us being able to hug our families again, and you picking up your camera and sharing your delightful photographs once more :)
Happy holidays to you. This is a lovely image. A nicely written narrative, thoughts we can all relate to in some way. I look forward to seeing your photos again.
This is a stunning composition. And your narrative was so evocative. It captures how the times feel right now. My mom is turning 98 in a week and not doing well. I can't believe how long it's been since I've seen her. The hardest part of all this has been isolation from family. All the best to you -- wishing you a much better 2021!
Lovely image and words, yes we are looking forward to a better 2021 too even though we’ve had it easier here than many. Sorry to hear about your father, hope you can spend some quality time with him soon.
Such a beautiful image and perfect for right now. I wish you well over the Christmas period, even though it's not the Christmas none of us planned or wanted to have. Hopefully inthe spring things will have improved and we'll be able to see our loved ones and, dare I say it, hug them again. Best wishes to you Helen.
