We took the train to London today in order to meet our son and be introduced to his new girlfriend.
Arriving some hours early we walked feom St Pancras along Regents park to Paddington basin and then on through Hyde Park and Green Park to the Thames in order to connect with a train to Tooting.
Hyde park was a hive of activity with contractors delivering portaloos and setting up railings and other structures in advance of the Queen's funeral in one week's time. Plans must have been in place for aome time in advance.
The floral tributes in Green Park near Buckingham Palace were well organised and we were glad to stop and spend time along with many paying respect to her majesty.
Paddington bear seemed to have a prominent role in the displays. People were rather touched by the Queen's sketch alongside Paddington bear at her Platinum jubilee celebrations.
That is very sweet- and the picture is really adorable quite regal at the same time, so I'm not surprised that so many Paddingtons are popping up in the tributes. Someone came into the office today to drop off some teddies for an upcoming fund raiser at our church and there was a Paddington amongst them. I so wanted to take him out and make a tribute somewhere! Great shot.
People were asked not to leave anymore marmalade sandwiches with Paddington.
