Confession - I spotted this a week ago and kept it for today but I think it fits the still life theme pretty well.
The gold painted post box which celebrates the success of Bedford's Olympic gold medal-winning canoeist Etienne Stott, is often at the receiving end of what I believe to be called yarn bombing. This month, the box topper presents two swans - Bedford's adopted symbol - and celebrates Valentine's day. Perfect for a spot of selective colour.
Today my husband and I took some time off to quietly celebrate valentine's day by meeting for lunch in our favourite cafe, enjoying a lunchtime recital of Brahms, Beethoven and Schumann performed by the very talented Huan Zhang on piano, and then on to our local Gallery for a most excellent exhibition of a century of modern British Art. Who says Bedford doesn't have culture? And both the recital and the exhibition were free.
Wishing everyone happy times with their loved ones today.

Fabulous find, love these postbox toppers. And the day sounds perfect. Particularly like the sound of the exhibition, just looked it up and it features lots of my fave artists.
