More snippets from yesterday's 365 day out in London. Since I've done nothing today but catch up with all the work I scived off doing yesterday, this seemed appropriate.
Top left; the adorably fat starlings near the Tower which so preoccupied Isla, Cindy and me that we got left behind by the rest of the group within the first five minutes and we had to phone to ask where they were. Top right. Only a few steps away, this gorgeous little rabbit hanging on the railings. I hope he finds his owner (Bunny suicides strike again, my 14 year old commented on seeing this. So cynical, the young these days!). Middle right. The hen party. Very short skirt and very long legs. I thought she should put a coat on. Bottom right. So many reminders of the hardships of history in this part of London, as in this macabre church detail. Bottom left. One of the highlights of my day was getting this huge cheesy grin and thumbs up from the butcher working at the new Jamie Oliver place. I know the carcasses in the background will look ghoulish to many people, but this guy was so absorbed in his work, and so cheerful when he saw us pointing cameras at him through the glass. His big smile sums up what was a very fun day.
This suggests you had a wonderful day and each photo is great by itself but it makes for an effective story board collage. Hope I can make the next one.
Hey Helen, great collage too! Yes, your shot of the hens party turned out alot better than mine.... mine was just all blurred. I was happy to guide you all but I think that you all could have done without me bumbling around :)
@judithg it was such a shame you couldn't come - it really was good fun - I'll give you a bit more notice next time so you don't have to miss the Saturday roast!
Yes - I had a lovely free Sunday just begging for a 365 trip to London! Spent yesterday turning to ice on the touchline and nearly all my rugby pictures are blurry because I forgot to set 'sport' - and he won't let me post them anyway!
@mrssmith thank you for making me feel better about bunking off for the day! I only have a couple more weeks to go and I will have finished all six books on my current contract so am looking forward to lots of free days - for a while at least!
Great montage reminder of the day! My bunny came out really crap - couldn't get a focus on him at all. And as for that hen party - where was I?! Didn't see them at all - ha ha - yes one of them is wearing what I call a knicker wrap ... nice to meet you - now get back to work ...
if i didn't have a coworker who works in our Dublin office told me all about the "hen party", i would have had a hard time to figure out what it was! those killer legs! @rich57, how could you not remember them, haha!
someday, I will have to try a meet up of one kind or another...they just mever seem to work out with my schedule. Looks like a fantastic day and well worth working doubly hard to make up for it.
The ghoulish butcher is cute! Total opposite of my day where I got chased out of two shops for snapping their merchandise! Amazing plumage on that tubby lil' bird!

But don't feel guilty about having fun. You need to take a break sometimes too!
