I was doing an author visit to a school today - luckily not too far away as there is still snow on the roads - but not enough to close the schools down (much to the boys' disappointment!). I didn't get a picture of my visit today so here is one of our two new Pekin bantams fluffing up her feathers in the snow yesterday.
We were given these two new additions by a friend in the village who had a surplus a few weeks ago. They've settled well, in spite of some of our girls giving them a less than neighbourly welcome!
They are very pretty with lovely red wattles and feathers around their feet that make them look as if they are wearing fluffy boots. We've not named them yet, but I'm thinking maybe Snow White and Bianca?
She's very bonny but our chucks won't walk in the snow! They are locked in the run till I've done a bit more fox-proofing anyway.... She also looks a lot cleaner than my white hen!
