I've been at my desk most of the day plotting evil deeds and trying to get to grips with Ancient Egypt for the new book. This evening I was hosting the monthly writing meeting - people had brought along a wide range of writing to read out and discuss this week, ranging from a Tudor historical novels in progress to haikus to a descriptive piece about the Suffolk landscape. Now I'm off to bed with the giant double cryptic crossword from the Cambridge News.

My research trip to Egypt looks like it's all falling into place.
One of the writing group brought along some delicious homemade cookies (so good I had to eat four of them just to be sure.)
