The tree that taste forgot

Home again and time to take down the christmas decorations (a day late, I think). Boo hoo! The house looks stripped bare. But it's nice to put each familiar decoration away, and imagine taking it out again next year as the festivities start again. What will have happened in the year in between?

We always have two trees. A real one in the living room which I try to decorate elegantly with reds and whites and golds. Then we have a slightly tatty old artificial tree in the kitchen which is smothered with assorted kitsch, home-made baubles and animals - the odder the better. Here the teddy bear with gold angel-wings, an ancient pink felt pig with two piglets and a shiny green frog wearing a crown (a recent purchase from the trip to Liberty's with Jane and Amy) are typical of the tone of the thing. I think I love it even more than the other tree!
...but it was fun!
