UPDATE 04-09-2012 - 6 months in, 50% of my project completed! This project does make you look at the world around you in new ways, and I've become more and more interested in trying to present interesting elements of York's history for your enjoyment. I'm not only enjoying the project, but I'm learning more about local history here too.

UPDATE 05-06-2012 - 3 Months in, 25% of my project completed, so time for a review. I've not travelled very far afield in recent weeks, so I've been having to look at my local environment. History seems to have featured heavily. This wasn't a deliberate choice, but reflects what has caught my attention. I hope that you are finding something of interest in my project - I'm certainly enjoying it!

UPDATE - I'm now two months into the project, and have actually managed to take a photo for it every day. It has been a struggle, but it is making me look at a wider range of possible subjects than I would normally consider. Thank you for the support of all those who have commented.

Hello, I've started this project on the day that I took delivery of a new Nikon P500 camera, so this journey is to learn both how to take better photos and how to use the new camera to best effect. It's a tall order to take a picture every day for a year, but it will be fun trying to do that. I hope that I will be able to share with you things of interest here in York, and in other places as I travel around. I enjoy hill walking, so expect quite a few landscapes. I also like steam trains, so there will be quite a few of those too! Please feel free to comment on my images. Positive comments are good for the ego, but constructive criticism is also welcome and will help improve my pictures. I look forward to hearing from you!
