I woke up early this morning to the sound of the power going out. ....A spider passing gas could wake me up. Finn and Diego woke up soon after and Diego came into my dark room announcing, "It is SO TOTALLY a snow day!" I was busy trying to check the news website but since we had no power, we also had no cell phone service (because we live in the boonies and need our own personal cell tower that runs through our moden which is, of course, powered by electricity.) So, as I laid in bed, too lazy to get up, I rolled around and waved my phone around in different positions, trying to catch the faintest of signals. I asked Diego if there was a lot of snow outside. He replied, "Duh???"
*sigh*
Finally, the my phone caught a signal and I founf that our schools were not closed but the neighboring district's were. I sent the kids back to bed since it was still too early to be awake. After 45 minutes of me refreshing the website, I finally saw our district listed as "CLOSED". Still in bed, I yelled, "SNOW DAY!!" and cheers erupted from various bedrooms.....and then I heard taylor march across her floor, swing her door open and growl, "NOW will you be quiet???" to her brothers.
So far, we have measured 13" and it still coming down strong.
My suspicions of Larry's DNA consisting of part Snow Shark were confirmed as I watched him swim across the backyard.
