my get pushed challenge this week issued by Mary Siegle @mcsiegle was "to shoot from as high as you reasonably can, preferably shooting downward, but outward would be OK also." since my plans for a trip to the big water to shoot from the lighthouse and reservoir were cancelled due to crummy weather I took a trip to our Mexican area in Detroit where they have built a huge suspension bridge across the freeway for pedestrians. my single shots were kind of "meh" so I had planned a pano just in case. the vertical lines you see are the wires of the mesh that is on the sides of the bridge for safety. in the distance in the center you can see the Ambassador Bridge one of the routes to Canada for us across the Detroit River.
Hi! I don't know how I missed seeing that you'd tagged me here. Wow! This really captures the wide sweep of a view you get from that pedestrian bridge. Makes me feel I'm on one of those in Minneapolis when we lived there. I particularly like the glimpse of church spires in the upper left. It provided a bit of contrast to the modern freeway and reminds the viewer of the actual neighborhoods/communities the freeways cut through. I've always been fascinated by the large swath of city blocks -- houses, stores, etc. that were lost. Great image!
@blueberry1222@mcsiegle@madamelucy@kimdavis thanks all! Mary I am still hoping for a high up shot now that I am on vacation. two possibilities but not sure how they will pan out! (no pun intended!) It was a pretty sunset sky that night...even a downtown area looks better in pink!
