Sadly we lost another police officer in the line of duty. Working at a funeral home I had the very sad privelege of helping the families of both a police officer and a firefighter who died in the line of duty. It is so very sad to know that they died protecting us. Probably 5000 law enforcement officers, firefighters and civilians came through our doors when we had the policeman in our care. It was a sight to see how his fellow officers paid tribute. If we never had to see it again that would be ok. We've had an unusual amount in our area who have been shot recently. It is very sad that they are leaving behind families who love them. My prayers go out to the family of Officer Glen Doss, Jr. He followed in his father's footsteps. He had only been on the force for two years. He has a 9 month old son.
I was so sad to read of Officer Doss’ passing. Each line of duty death is too many, and it seems like it’s weekly if not daily sometimes now. It’s heart wrenching. Thank you Jackie for your tribute.
that is so sad. we hear of so many deaths happening in the states that we start to think of them as statistics instead of people. thank you Jackie for sharing this with us, and for giving both of these people (and their families) the respect and care that they they deserved.
