I finally have some time to issue you a challenge.
Your challenge for the week is to work with individual tones as opposed to individual colours.
The tones in your photo are simply the shades of grey it contains.
Using tone curves found in your editing software, find 3 tonally different images (one with mainly light tones, one with many tones, and one with mainly dark tones) and see what effect the S-curve tone curve has on it.
Your get pushed challenge photo is to be one that is adjusted perfectly with a nice range of high-lights through to the shadows.
You can do this exercise in colour or B&W - your choice.
@jacqbb
No - you don't need to post before and after shots unless you want to. It is mostly an information and learning type challenge. I enjoy doing these type every once in a while.
Never hurts to go back to the basics every so often!
Well done!
