The rugby weekend in Toulon well behind me, I have turned to my next challenge which is writing a speech to toast the Immortal Memory of our Scottish bard, Robert Burns. When researching material for this, I unearthed my book on Burns poetry, which was given to my grandfather from my grandmother in 1942. On it there is a hand-written note by my grandmother, and inside I found not one, but two dried lucky four-leafed clovers. Who put them in there, I do not know, but I certainly intend to keep them inside the book. And now back to the speech writing ...
What a find! Love the way you photographed this preserved piece of nature. Wonderful story you shared about the book's history too. Good luck with the speech.
A lovely photograph with great pov and dof and such a nice history; fav for me. I love Burns' poetry, especially set to music and sung by Jean Redpath. @paulaw Paua, I love your remark abut not being able to press a four-leaf clover with a Kindle. Something else to add to my list of reasons why I won't have an e reader.
