The Euro by jamibann

The Euro

I never pay much attention to coins, finding them more of a nuisance than anything else as they weigh so much. The coins in front of this image are 2 euro pieces. Photographing them made me look more closely at them. Two of them are from Germany, the other from France. The French one has the 12 European stars on the side of the coin, the German one has the words 'Einigkeit und recht und freiheit' written on the side (Unity and Justice and Freedom). I'll be more observant in future when I look at my change - it's interesting to note the differences in the coins and where each one came from originally.
You photographed those so beautifully, Issi...and what an interesting piece of information! I never took a good look...so I think I probably need to return soon ;-)

I like the arrangement and the over-all gold tones of the picture, Issi. It is interesting, studying the features on coins. Thanks for the interesting facts about these.

Beautiful focus on this.

Nice job with this. I like how some are gold in the center and silver on the outside and the others are reversed.

Nice focus and dof!

Very interesting to see these, love the dof and light in this picture. These have a bit of a resemblance to the Canadian toonie or two-dollar piece.

So fascinating! I didn't realize there were different forms of the euro. It's a lovely composition.

I love your explanation Issi, I'll be paying close attention in April when I fly to Europe... I had no idea that each country has their own coins. Thanks for the info! Love your shot!
