Wallace Fountain, St. Paul by jamibann

Wallace Fountain, St. Paul

Sharing another photo from my walk in Paris on Wednesday. This is one of 67 fountains like this in the city; known as Wallace Fountains. They are made of cast iron and were donated in the late 1800s by Englishman Richard Wallace. They were designed by Charles-Auguste Lebourg, and inspired by the Fontaine des Innocents; featuring four caryatids - kindness, simplicity, charity and sobriety.
great focus, terrific image. fav

I so enjoy your pictures, Issi. It's a treat to get to see glimpses of Paris and country castles and lovely rolling green golf courses draped in fog, and scenes from your lovely gardens. Thank you so much for sharing here on 365. :)

Your composition in this picture compliments the fountain's design perfectly. Enjoy the info you share on your pictures as well.

A lot to look at. It appears the two women visible are not "carbon" copies of each other, so I would assume the others aren't either.

A very pretty fountain. Are they all just like this, or do they have different designs and subjects?

@tristansmum All 67 are like this Stephanie! There are 3 other designs too, however, funded by the same man, but the above model is the best known and seen most frequently.
