I'm glad to report that dad's operation went well yesterday and that he's home and recovering just fine.
Today I'm going down to mum's grave to leave these flowers for Mother's Day. They'll not last longer than a couple of days because of the frost but it's the thought that counts, is it not?
I realise today, that I have no mums to send flowers to any more, since John's mum passed away in October. Quite a sad realisation. Still, at least I will always be able to buy flowers to take down to my mum's graveside.
Love your colours and especially that beautiful hyacinth. It's always the thought, yes. My mum does not have a grave - my dad does but miles away from where we live now.
@quietpurplehaze I have to say it gives me comfort to go to mum's graveside when I come home. And as you make me realise, it's not something that everyone has. Those hyacinths are a beautiful colour, and they also smell absolutely wonderful - as you might well imagine.
Beautiful and so glad all went well yesterday. I'm sure your Dad will notice such a difference.
Love your flowers and even though our mums are both 91 years old there are so many auntie characters that we miss on days like this. I'm enjoying virtual breakfast in bed at the moment via WhatsApp 😃😃
Have a gentle day.
A lovely capture and you hit the nail on the head about no mums to give flowers to. I couldn’t make out why I felt a little sad today when I realized why and as you said not having a mum to give flowers to, it’s funny after 9 years I can still feel it like this.
What a beautiful bunch of flowers for your mum. Yes, we all miss our mothers no matter how long ago we lost them. So pleased to read your dad is going well. fav
Wonderful shot of these beautiful flowers! Love the colors! I always find it quite comforting taking flowers to my mother's grave...an opportunity to reflect on happy memories. I'm so glad everything went well with your father's operation. :-)
Yes, I understand - that sense of place and having somewhere to go to.
