Hubby is in his happy place again today ... but on a different part of the river Dee. This is the first time he's fished here, at Deecastle, and I went down to meet him for lunch. It's a lovely spot, and the bothy is a very cool Scandinavian style 'pod' as you can see.
Imagine my surprise when I got there and hubby introduced me to a fellow fisherman he had met, who just happens to be the cousin of one of the two friends I was recently with in Florence! And we are all going to this friend's son's wedding in NYC next June! What a small world.
Well that is a very small world, you can have a good catch up & share pleasures to come! The it will be good to know you will see familiar faces in NY!
@gilbertwood@pusspup Yes, it's on the bank of the river, and it's basically a bothy, but a lot of them have been replaced since the big flood in 2015. The 'pods' are more mobile (in case of flooding) and they come as a unit, all kitted out with toilet and wood burning stove. In Scotland you need a bothy to retire to from time to time as it is usually cold and you need a cup of soup and a heat-up! He caught a fish at lunchtime - a 10 lb salmon, so he'll be a happy boy when he gets home tonight.
