Hubby shouted at me to fetch my camera this morning as he spotted our neighbour's cat with this pigeon in our back garden. I wasn't quick enough to capture it at the back of the house, but as the cat left our front garden to cross the road and bring his prey home to show its owners, I got a few decent shots. Cat seemed very proud of himself, and I felt that he stopped to show me his catch.
This is the same cheeky cat who was looking in the window at me the other week.
Poor pigeon - although that's one less we have in our garden now!
Excellent pic.....our cat Johnny brought one in through he catflap a while ago.....it must have been still living as the trail of damage and blood and feathers that we found in Billy's recording studio does not bear thinking about........
@cutekitty I can only imagine, and in fact I did comment to hubby that I hoped the cat couldn't get into its owners house with the pigeon. I can only imagine the mess that would make, as this one clearly wasn't quite dead either!
They really never are far from being "Jungle Cats" which is why some people dislike them so much! My Tigger in CA could catch a bird on the fly, and if I saw it I could bellow the most un-ladylike "NO-O-O-O!!!" Twice I was able to get him to let go, and the bird flew off...they're certainly not hungry! The thrill of the hunt I suppose! Well-captured photo!
