Back in Donegal after 20 years! We hit our personal hotspots (Portnoo, Ardara, Glenties, Rossbeg) with John's dad, getting quick glimpses of very familiar sights and views, and stopping at a couple of favourite places like the Highland Hotel in Glenties for tea and scones and the Dawros Bay Hotel in Rossbeg for a chat and a cup of tea with the owners. Here you can see hubby with his sister Anne and his dad, as well as Pamela and Maria, owners of the hotel. When we used to go to this hotel, the parents were the owners. Both of them gone now.
We got lovely sunshine for our day trip (6 hours of driving ...) and FiL coped admirably, despite his frailness. Hubby was an absolute star, stopping whenever required, and looking after his dad 100%. We were all relieved however to get back to Portadown without incident or accident.
I can smell the sea... all that coastline is gorgeous, not been back for a while but Cork in August! Lovely memories & great day out for you all, your FIL would so enjoy it!
