1837-1897

A bit of sepia treatment for this old fountain, erected in 1897 to celebrate 60 years of Queen Victoria's reign. No longer in use, obviously, but sits on the roadside near Balmoral. We encountered it on yesterday's walk.
What a lovely thing to find by the roadside. I like your vintage treatment of it.

That is a long reign. Has Queen Elizabeth beaten it?

...you always seem to find some interesting finds on your walks.

@tunia Yes she has! Victoria reigned for 63 years. Elizabeth is in her 67th year of reign, I believe.

What a smashing find! I imagine that QE2 knows exactly where all such wayside 'treasures' are located. IMHO she's a canny lady.

The sepia is a nice touch. Looks just out of the 1800's.

How such ornate carving is done in rock amazes me. I like the editing you went with for this picture.

Quick update on my dad: he's improving thanks to rehab but still has a long way to go before he can go home. The trip to be with him used to be a two plus hour journey, but is now only 8 mins so there's more time in each, which means I can return to 365... :)
