The Osprey by jamibann

The Osprey

My weekly trips to bring a care package to dad have taken on a whole new level of excitement as I know I can also check up on 'my' Osprey couple when I'm there. Today, as I drove up, I could see two birds in the nest. However by the time I came back from dad's and headed up to my viewpoint, I could only see one. It was windy, cold and dull, and my lens is on its limits, so this was the best I could do. I think this is the male, and I think the female is in the nest, but she was too low to see from this vantage point. It's always an exciting moment, as I know I can't stay long - even hanging around for 20 minutes, is, in theory, more than I should be doing, but you can't just drive past this little bit of excitement without stopping. I'm hoping to be able to post a weekly progress photo.
Well captured! I would be excited too,

Both awesome and exciting! I'm with the others- looking forward to seeing more of your ospreys! I was trying to enlarge the picture because to me it looks like there are two of them in this picture- one with the head up and the other looking down- but the only thing that enlarges is the type. So that's not helping my eyes! Love the shot anyway- fav!

@olivetreeann I had a good look at it with the zoom when editing, but it is just ruffled neck feathers you are seeing. I live in hope that I'll get both of them one day.
