The Gab O' May by jamibann

The Gab O' May

John o' Lunnaness was watching the snow coming down this morning, although fortunately it wasn't lying on the ground. John didn't know about the Gab o' May, as he comes from Shetland, so I gently explained to him that it is a cold storm, early May, which comes after the Teuchat Storm. I did also need to tell him what that is ... He was very happy to learn that it had already passed in April, as it comes when the teuchats (lapwings) return. He is a contented bear now.
I didn't know about that either - but I like your shot! I think we might be getting a cold storm!

I love how your words connect so beautifully with the bear looking out the window. It really tells a story and informs us all.

What a nice shot and story. Does the Gab o' May has something to do with the Ice Saints?

I learned something right along with John o' Lunnaness. It's cold, wet and windy here in IL today; doesn't feel like May 10 in the least.
