I met Shirley back in the early eighties when we were both footloose and fancy-free. We've done a lot of things together, including cycling holidays in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand and Shirley came to visit us when we lived in Indonesia and the US. However, life has a way of keeping people apart and over the last 15 years, although we've always kept in touch we've not been able to spend lots of time together. But, Shirley has now retired, and so we had a mini-celebration of a mid-week walk and lunch together. I was delighted to be able to take her somewhere she's never been - Tom's Cairn, followed by lunch at the Finzean Farm Shop. I suspect we'll be doing more of this sort of thing in the future.
