Having cleared out hubby's dad's house fairly recently, we came across the standard set of old slides. The slides of course may be standard for that era, but the contents never are. It takes so long to go through them, and sort out what to keep and what has to go. And so much depends on whether they are labelled or not, as they mean nothing if you don't know where or when it was taken, nor who is in the image.
I was going through some the other evening and came across this rather darling image of hubby with his mum. John's dad was a bit of a photographer and there are so many photos of Mo (John's mum) posing in different places. I loved this one because of the candid aspect of the shot.
Lovely natural photo of John’s mum & her wee driver boy! That will take hubby back to his childhood! Do we underestimate the pleasure & interest we see in these old photos when we take them all those years ago?
fabulous , I love the vintage colours and the fabulous car . I was going through my archive , as you do , and found a similar shot of me driving my dad's Van !!!
This is gorgeous - some of these are treasure and some ...well like you say if you have no way of knowing who is who it's quite a big decision to keep or not. We are in the same boat here!! We had a lovely cousin of Grandad living at Alford and she knew everything and everyone. However she and her husband have moved to Edinburgh, so we aren't able to pop in like we used to!
