Ben Starav (The Hill of the Rustling Noise)

A shot from Friday's 3-Munro walk. I would have called this hill The Hill of the Rocky Ridge!

We merged two walks together as we'd had to miss a day's walking due to inclement weather the previous day. So it was a long one, with lots of 'weather' on the way! Ben Starav was the first hill - and my only regret was not seeing it better. We could make out lots of beautiful rock features, but only vaguely because of the mist, however we could see enough to know they were there. There was a beautiful stripe of white quartz on this hill, which we walked over and you can see from a few km away. We did get some glimpses as we looked back whenever there was a clearing. It was fairly windy, so every now and again the clouds/mist would be whisked away by the wind, only to return a few minutes later.

From this hill we walked out to Beinn nan Aighenan (Hill of the Hinds) and finished with Glas Bheinn Mhor (The Big Grey Hill). A lovely day out. 48 remaining to be done. :-)
Some challenging rocks to scramble over! Pity the fog obscured your view.

Such an amazing capture yet very scary looking to me, nothing for the faint of heart. How wonderful that you made it and had a good day. I love the pov and wonderful rocks and shapes.

Well I would be shouting ‘turn back John!” To even think about walking along that ridge makes my legs feel like jelly! You are made of stronger stuff so well done to tackle mountains like this! Do you ever get really scared?

Fog makes for a very intriguing shot. Wonderful

@happypat The only time I get tummy butterflies is when the visibility really is zero. I am not comfortable walking and not being able to see where I am going, not seeing any features, and not even knowing if I'm walking uphill or downhill. Even though I've learned to trust the compass! Generally speaking, that type of zero-visibility is only in winter though.

this looks a brave walk especially in the mist but it makes a great shot.

What a dramatic ridge! I'm glad the wind didn't take you over the top and down the side. Congratulations on three more Munros!
