got up at 5 this morning to look at the weather forecast so I could plan whether the boys were both likely to be going to school today. After I had been in the kitchen for a few minutes I noticed a fox right outside the glass doors at the far end of the kitchen. I can't believe that it didn't see me, but it was busy eating food that had fallen off the bird table. Needless to say our killer guard dog slept peacefully less than five feet away from it. When I excitedly told the boys about it when they got up they said 'Oh yes, we saw it there a couple of days ago.' I intended to go back to bed, but it didn't happen.
Despite more snow last night both boys went to school today. The buses weren't going through the village 6 miles away where they both get their buses from in the morning so I had to drive Angus to Stratford and then Sam to Warwick - two hours in total. Then a bit of dragging water up to the field for the donks and chickens and driving up to the pigs with more boiling water to defrost them and feed them. Then repeat the above in reverse order this evening.
I saw a barn own flying along the edge of the road twice today, both in different places. I think all of these hunting animals must be getting very hungry, as both of tehm were in broad daylight
Can't wait for the snow to disappear because my house is deteriorating into chaos - I am actually looking forward to having tome to do some housework!
Wonderful ' blog ' with this sweet shot! I agree I would like the snow to go now, I've extracted enough shots from it , now it's just exhausting ( hens, dog etc)!
Sounds a lot of hard work!! In complete agreement.we've had a lovely week, now lets get back to normal!! Wonderful close up.....love the snowy whiskers!

Goodness, your day sounds exhausting! Your animals are SO lucky that you love and take care of them so well. :-)
Hope things are defrosted by now.
