hmm... now I come to think of it I can't remember if this was blackthorn or hawthorn. Blackthorn I think.
Dithered a bit today about whether to call the vet again about the goat's eye. I am definitely going to call tomorrow despite Graham saying he thought it was looking better. Graham is just so 'glass half full' that sometimes I just have to ignore him! Mind you, I do have a tendency to be a bit the other way, and that coupled with the fact that I over-empathise to a ridiculous degree means that he is probably right.
In an on-going attempt for us to be a bit healthier and for Graham and I to lose weight I cooked a fish pie out of a weight watchers cook book this evening. Tho I say so myself it was pretty good with its potato and butternut squash topping. It made me laugh when Angus said that he had enjoyed it "but, and I don't want you take this the wrong way, please can that not mean that you make it every other day like you did with the Singapore noodles that we all liked a few months ago." I take his point, but it is so rare for both of the boys to like the same thing that I must admit I do latch onto things when they do.
Lovely focus and beautiful bokeh. Love the dof you have captured. Funny you say about the glass half full thing, Malcolm bought us both t shirts with identical half glasses full of water pictures on the front only his says optimist and mine says pessimist. So true I have to confess!
I think you should catch this goat and put him in the car for the vet to see him! An infection could affect his eyesight in the future! Fish pie sounds great and this I hope is blackthorn - sounds nicer than hawthorne which is common round here!
Really nice shot, like the tones.
I can so relate about the dish. "But you made this a couple days ago"...But you all eat it without whining, so yeah, I made it again :)
Nice bokeh! My Aunt made a fish soup I think you could lose weight with.I ate it and smiled said thank you and was glad I didn't have to eat her cooking every day.
At first I did not like such an extremely small DOF but it grew on me. You are right, it is great on a black background and, IMHO, even better with a nice soft black vignette around it to concentrate the attention.
Lovely colours! Just laughing about the food issues - I'm on a run of sweetcorn because it's a vegetable Adam actually requested at the weekend. I love fish pie but Adam has 'gone off it'. I cooked a few Hairy Dieters recipes but ended up virtually doubling the quantities to fill Adam and Nigel up (both of whom exercise off everything) and then eating too much myself - and I did feel they were low cal because you didn't get much...
Oh and I asked Adam tonight if I added purple sprouting broccoli to the curry and it turned blue would he still eat it - the answer was 'no' - good job I asked...
@nairda Thanks for your comment Adrian. I must admit I did try lots of different crops on this shot, your idea for a vignette might have solved my problems.
