A quick drive through one of my favourite sheepy haunts on the way back from the kids' bus stop this morning. This bit of woodland is on the edge of a big field and I have always thought that there is a photo just waiting to happen there. Love the way the morning light hits the mossy trees and this little lamb very kindly obliged me with a good sheepy stare.
Just down the road from here I saw a fox in the middle of a ploughed field - took a photo but it was very far away, and four guinea fowl out for a morning walk along the road within the space of about 30 seconds. Hopefully the guinea fowl didn't bump into the fox on their travels.
This is just perfect, what a shot. Bet you were thrilled when you saw the lamb standing there perfectly framed. Lovely sunlight coming through the trees. A big fav
This is great for composition! The limbs make a triangle that frame the sheep.,it seems to allow for positioning him right in the middle...instead of using rule of thirds. Fav!
@barrowlane Rob I know exactly what you mean, and I can't put my finger on it either. The word I had come up with is 'biblical' but I don't know why that word comes to mind. It is something to do with the processing and I think it has the same feel as the one I took of sheep on 4th March.
Read some of the comments above, and would agree with the "something biblical" remarks. But beyond that, it just has such a beginning of the world feeling. Same sense of wonder that the first human being may have experienced in his or her first encounter with this previously unheard of, unseen and unnamed creature; a new life discovery in a new world. Please nobody laugh at the silly old man!
Beautiful ranch framing that fat lamb!
FAV!
That doesn't even look real, it's so awesome. Superb lighting and framing.
