had a bit of a drive round before picking Sam plus various others up from the bus stop after school. I saw some young calves in a field enjoying the bright but cool sunshine. It was such a joy to watch them feeding from their ever-patient mothers and then all charging around the field together with unbridled joie de vie.
Unbridled joie de vie shots to follow when I have got round to editing them.
Earlier in the day I went into town to do some long overdue admin work closing down unused bank accounts etc. All very dull but surprisingly satisfying to have it completed.
Graham and Angus played cricket this evening for our village in the local, very amateur pub team league. I went along to see how they were getting on, but although it was bright and sunny it was absolutely freezing with a biting northerly wind. Angus batted quite well, Graham captained the team and umpired half of the match and the team got totally thrashed. They all ended the evening with a few pints in the pub and big smiles on their faces.
Sam and I watched The Apprentice. I honestly don't know why I watch it because every year I end up loathing all of the competitors, but Sam always seems to like there to be something on in the week that we watch together (or, if I am being less generous - that he is allowed to stay up late for) so I only do it so as not to disappoint him - honest............
I was very excited to get through to the final five in the patterns in nature weekly theme. Two final five places in my eighteen months on 365, and both of them within three weeks of each other. Thrilled and flattered!
Well done on final 5 Jan...your patterns were excellent. Those apprentice folks chasing after the Jersey cows in their new wellies was quite entertaining !! This looks a strong calf.
Feeling bad about the amount of beef I ate last night now... I miss Rachel playing cricket although it seemed to be freezing more often than it was warm...
