Unfortunately I have had a few timing issues with the tulips this year. They seem to have flowered a bit earlier than normal. These ones are planted in a small square bed with aliums.
I had a vision of the tulips being in flower at the same time as the alliums and at the same time as the wisteria and clematis montana covered fence that surround them. The tulips are just about to drop their petals, the wisteria and clematis are in full bloom, but the alliums haven't quite burst their buds yet - oh well, the best laid plans and all that.
I am posting things a bit out of sync at the moment, but Monday was our village May Day celebration and this year we were blessed with perfect weather for it. The donks and goats had their usual stand and were admired by many and after thinking that I didn't really have much worthy of putting in our art club's exhibition this year I managed to sell six pieces of art so was very pleased.
Such a variety of tulips these days....I do like the smaller more compact ones myself although you have taught me there is so much more to tulips than I thought!
Perfect focus and Dof. Love the subdued lighting on the beautiful flower.
