I love the way you can see the different layers of wood pulp that these wasps are laying down on their nest. It is quite a structure and the different colours show the different types of wood that they have used.
A rainy day today - I had almost forgotten what it looks like. The soil in parts of our garden was beginning to crack, so we can't complain.
What a wonderful find and capture -- such intricate piece of workmanship -this is a stunning macro and a certain fav . Rain has also reached us over night the garden did need it !!
Great close up, it's great to have these to observe. We have tree wasps in one of the bird boxes and I've been photographing the nest every few days, watching new layers appear!
