I can always hear grasshoppers at this time of year when I go into the donkeys' field, but it's not often I actually see them.
Thanks to everyone who commented and faved my shot from yesterday, I was thrilled to discover that it had got onto the popular page when I got up this morning. Don't get onto there very often these days, so it was a lovely surprise.
Fav -- I haven't seen a grasshopper for years --as a child I remember going to my Aunts farm ,and spending hours in a field by the farmhouse listening and trying to catch grasshoppers !! Simple things kept us occupied and happy in those days and no need for expensive toys and gadgets !!
Yes we used to catch them when we went camping Beryl. In fact I seem to remember my Dad giving us a penny for each one we caught - a cheap way of keeping us out of their hair for a few hours I suppose. @beryl
