A beautiful bright morning today, though very cold. I will settle for that in preference to the rain that has been all too common over the past few weeks.
I was very relieved to hear that friends of ours who live in Didsbury in Manchester weren't amongst those who had to be evacuated from their homes because of potential flooding last night. It must be awful for those who are in that position at the best of times, but during the Covid crisis, the situation must be so much worse.
My Mum called and was rather upset because her next door neighbours' daughter is currently in hospital suffering from Covid. I did my best to try to be rational and reassure her that she is young (40ish), has no underlying health issues etc, but I do find my own emotions to be on a bit of a rollercoaster at the moment, swinging from hope and positivity to fear and despair about the whole pandemic thing.
Hearing that Glastonbury has been cancelled again, was rather sobering. I wonder if the Underneath The Stars festival we are due to attend five weeks later will go the same way. The demographic is just about the polar opposite to Glasto, and most of the potential attendees should have been vaccinated by then, so we will see.
I was lucky to look out of the kitchen window at just the right time and notice that the sky was looking very promising, so I ran up the hill and took a few shots. I had wanted to post a picture of Pepper, our cockapoo today because it is is his twelfth birthday, but I really struggle to get a good shot of him because he is black and curly. I must persevere.
What a spectacular and beautiful sky , so painterly and certainly a Shepherd's delight ! I think this pandemic is getting at us all , the severity of it all and the unknown as how it will pan out ! Fav for the fantastic sky -- well worth running up the hill to capture it !
This really is incredible- hope the day hasn’t let you down after such a stunning sunset! My friend tells me her niece is in hospital with Covid aged 23 - it’s gone through 7 family members with 4 in hospital plus an elderly fatality & 2 at home feeling dreadful. Total utter nightmare & still people insist it’s not real. Sorry - that’s a downer...
I can relate to your rollercoaster of emotions one of my friends daughter has been transferred to HDU due to cover she is also in her 40ies.
Hopefully when the weather improves we will all start to feel a bit better
