Sunrise

Several weeks ago my husband was trying to get me to stop editing photos and go to sleep when he said, "Wouldn't it be a shame to have a whole year of photos and none with early morning light?"

Well, I remembered that this morning when I happened to be awake. It wasn't so nice to be up in the middle of the night prepping for a colonoscopy, but at least I got a few early morning photos. I went outside at just the right time to catch sunrise.

I was awake off and on before I got out of bed at 3am and didn't go back to sleep until after noon. I slept most of the afternoon. Not a very productive day, but the good news is that my colonoscopy was completely normal. And it made me appreciate the early morning--of course it would be nicer without the prep and after a full night of sleep.
I love the colors! Did you saturate them a bit in photo-shop? I also like your use of foreground and background. (M)

Love the colors and I have the same question as Smith-Family. I always wonder why all people...no matter if they weigh 90 lbs or 250 lbs - all have to take the same amount of prep for colonoscopy. Makes no sense to me! Happy that yours was normal! Yea!

The colors are more intense than in real life, but it's due more to the exposure than to saturation. I shoot in raw and almost always saturate colors and add clarity using Adobe Lightroom. I started out with my usual adjustments to saturation and clarity, but after adjusting the exposure so the leaves were silhouettes, I toned down the saturation to almost 0. The exposure change affected the sky even more than the leaves.
