The Australian Railway Historical Society does a run with a steam train every now and again from Brisbane to Palmwoods. The passengers then take off for a bus trip up to Mapleton and while they are away the locals get a chance to take a steam train ride from Palmwoods to Yandina and back. The smell of the smoke took many of us back to our childhood and I'm sure everyone enjoyed the experience.
@777margo It was good. We got on at Palmwoods and went to Yandina where they turned the train around, and then we came back to Palmwoods. It cost $30 each. I think they do it twice a year.
