Flood, South Bank. by jesika2

Flood, South Bank.

If the foot/cycle path at the bottom of Millennium Bridge is raised for easier access, as is suggested/speculated, where will the extra flood water go? The field is already a shallow lake and the houses at the bottom of the field narrowly escape flooded gardens. I think in one of our recent "once in a century" floods the gardens at least were flooded.
The water can't all go to Rowntree Swan Lake water polo park...or can it?

Lovely shots! I would think that if a raised embankment for the cycle track had pipes through the flood water could continue to flow without making the flooding problem worse.

@jesika2

Who knows? I just find it frustrating that so many simple changes that would make life easier seem to take so long to progress - if they ever do!
