Brr. It was cold out there this morning but beautiful. I find it really hard to manually focus in the dark but this came out pretty well I think.They are still working on the lighthouse so no light there again yet.
This is a lovely photo. Nice reflections in the sand and the sea. Favorite. (Have you tried using a screen in front of the lens for this type of shot? It's likely to refract the moon in a pleasing way.)
I like this much better than the similar B&W. It feels more balanced, and I have heard that one of the composition "rules" is that when there is a dominant object in a photo, an odd number is better than an even number, i.e. three rocks are better than two.
@jgpittenger Jane, streetlights, the sun, the moon etc. can be refracted (made to have a star-like quality) by shooting at a high Fstop, e.g., 22 or more. Or, you can achieve the same thing by using a swatch of window screen and placing it directly in front of the lens. (Results not guarranteed, ha-ha)
