Best viewed large to see all the racks, bird, and bull scratching himself on another one. Yesterday I went to an auto wrecking yard for my macro class assignment. It was fun and interesting but also very sobering especially when I found a drenched teddy bear that clearly had come from one of the wrecked cars. Since I wasn't too far from the elk viewing site, I figured I'd get back into my beloved natural world. I came upon a huge group of bull elk all relaxing together.
I hope everyone knows that though I don't thank you for your visits, comments, favs, I am tremendously grateful. You really make my day with all your support
What great racks of antlers! I would love to see this in the wild! Your picture is a good second to firsthand, though! Much prefer the nature photos to the wrecking yard!
OHMYGOODNESS! What an amazing capture! You are so lucky to have been there and to know exactly how to get this great shot! Thanks for sharing the story in contrast to the wrecking yard.
Your title is pretty accurate. Bull elk often hang out together until mating season, then everything changes. I love seeing them in velvet in this great shot.
