For my mentoring group's assignment of black and white using artificial light. This was taken at a cool spot near Portland, OR, created by a man wanting to make a memorial for WW 2 an Korean War soldiers. He was so moved by going to the real Stonehenge that he came home to create one. The particular evening we were there, there had been a big car show nearby and people were swarming all over the place taking photos of themselves, their cars, and Stonehenge. Eventually they all left and we had the place to ourselves and had fun light painting. The ghost is actually a selfie as I wandered around the structure with a long exposure and a flashlight. Tricky to get just enough light. This is a reworking and conversion to black and white. Best viewed on black.
Thanks so much for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs. I'm sorry if I haven't responded to you all by visiting your photos but my energy level is still really puny.
WOW!!!! I would love to be able to photograph there! Is it far from where you are and where I'll be? I love the way you've lit it and have no suggestions for improvement. You caught the interior perfectly and just enough ghosting to turn you into a ghost. Very creative, cleverly executed, great result. Fav! I hope this means you are feeling a little better!
@taffy thanks. A little better. I shot this last year though...just a reworking. It isn't close to where you and I will be but I think not far from Portland. I'll check
Wow this is amazing!! I have never done light painting - I hadn't realised you could get such creative images!! So impressed Jane!! Huge Fav! Hope you will soon be feeling better!!
I love what you've done with this Jane. it's just terrific. You're silhouette is so super cool.
For me I wish it was all a starry sky rather than the cloud though. I find it a bit distracting.
Cool shot....very interesting processing.....too bad when the weather conditions do not cooperate, but still a great place to visit. The real Stonehenge would probably be amazing to visit in the middle of the night.
