After lots of feedback on yesterday's Sumatran tiger, I decided to give it another try with a different background since the focus in the foreground of the tree background wasn't consistent with the lion's sharpness. I've given more time than I have to this and am still not satisfied. Thanks for your suggestions, comments, favs on yesterday's version. The critiques were very helpful
@milaniet thanks so much...how I did it...sure. I tweaked the tiger a bit in LR and then took it to PS where I copied they layer and then selected out the tiger from its miserable background. Then I searched through my photos for one that had a landscape that would be appropriate for where Sumatran tigers live and had the light coming from the same direction. Then I tweaked the WB so it was similar in color and tone to the tiger shot and brought it into PS. I drug the new background into tiger shot and put it below the tiger mask, fiddled a bit with the size and placement until it seemed good. Then I fiddled with the tone so it all seemed to fit together and then called it a day...a long one. I hate to think how much time I spent on it, but he is such a gorgeous animal it felt as if I was putting prayers into the universe for his species recovering from being endangered
That tiger is so sharp, and looks magnificent. I find the background a bit unusual in that a Sumatran Tiger would never be found in a desert like place. But I can see why you picked it, for the tones.
