I still have shots from my trip to go through but, given the state of my shoulder and not being able to hand hold my camera especially with bird lens on it, I've been missing photographing birds. So I went back to some shots from the raptor center and did some playing. This has textures from PS paper textures as well as one from Cai's wildlife collection.
Thanks for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs
I have never caught an owl other than at a bird show. What a beautiful creature! We have barred owls in my n'hood, and I have even sought them in the early hours whrn I hear them, but so far they are too well camouflaged!
Oh my gosh, your processing on this is stellar (no surprise!). I really like the combinations of backgrounds that so clearly set off the bird but convey a natural environment. Your shoulder is taking a while to heal...my sympathies as it must be frustrating.
Such a beautiful bird! I love owls! This is a wonderful capture with great processing Jane. So sorry to hear your shoulder is still causing you major problems! Wishing you a speedy recovery so that you can get out with your birding lens! Fav!
@stefneyhart this was from the Eugene raptor center. They did a special opening on a day they are normally closed for our camera club and brought a bunch of them out with handlers for us to photograph. It was amazing. Do you live in Eugene or nearby? It would be fun to get together
Love what you are able to do with the backgrounds for your wildlife shots - the natural textures add so much interest to the shot. Know you can't rush the healing process - but imagine it's quite frustrating. Hopefully it - and the weather- will improve shortly.
Is that barn owl not the most gorgeous bird?! He was beautiful to begin with, and your textures and brush strokes have make him look like an oil painting fir for the wall! This is beautiful!
