We went on a helicopter tour of the Big Island today...what a thrill. Unfortunately the photography was disappointing since I didn't have the best seat, there was thick "fog" and poor light, and the glare on the windows messed upmost of my favorite shots. I did get a couple that I like of the lava flowing into the sea. Hopefully I will get more of that next week when I view it from the shore and then also a boat. Thrilling experience nonetheless.

Oh cool, glad you got to do this! Isn't it amazing to see! When I was there I met a lady and she did both helicopter and the boat and she said it was much better from the boat, so you should get some good shots from that
I saw this on my phone at the hockey game (uh, yes, during the 0 - 0 game that we eventually lost 0 - 1...why might I have been looking at my phone???). Anyway, I am excited to see your shots -- too bad about the fog, but I'm guessing it's been remarkable to see anything at all like this. The steam is incredible!
