Best on black. I went back to see if the rufous females were out getting nesting material again and I was in luck...though people kept arriving to put their boats in the lake and scaring off these little hard workers. Can you imagine how hard work it is to hover and try to get a bit of fluff when the strand doesn't want to detach? I sure love these tiny birds. She is probably at most 2" from head to tip of tail.
Thanks for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs and your amazing response to yesterday's droplets
Hi Jane, here is the recipe, although if you're hoping for gluten free I'm afraid it's not. 250g butter, 250g sugar, beaten together. Beat in 4 eggs, one at a time. Add 140g polenta, 200g plain flour, 2 tsp baking powder, zest of 1 orange and 2-4 tablespoons marmalade. Mix well, spoon into a 23cm tin lined with baking parchment. Bake at 160 C / 140 fan, gas 3 for 45 mins until skewer comes out clean. Cool slightly and pour over warmed juice of 1 orange. Serve warm. Nice with cream! Enjoy.
Wonderful. I was just watching some crows in a neighbouring tree breaking small branches for their nests. It's fascinating. And how they then go and collect leaves and fallen branches.
Unfortunately man happens afterwards.
Gorgeous capture
Being new to photography do you mind me asking what do you mean when you say best on black?
