Winter Grasses

My favorite hike changes lots over the seasons…from deep grassy lakes to dried up pasture land fertilized by tons of dead teeny fish. It often has an assortment of shorebirds, bald eagles, harriers, meadowlarks, hummingbirds, ravens, and more. Today the lakes were full and perfectly calm (before the next storm that came in a couple of hours late).
