I spent the day chasing after birds. You'll be seeing them for a couple of days. I know canadian geese are pretty common but I loved watching him touch down. I had my ISO way up for trying to catch birds in flight so it's pretty noisy I am afraid.

I honestly don't know what you could have done differently. It is a beautiful shot overall, it was just unfortunate that the dark rocks were at the same level as the goose's head. I wish I could offer some advice, but I am pretty new at this myself.
You capture the action well. The rocks a very close to the bird so difficult to get the feeling of depth. Zooming in on the goose if possible would have put the focus more on the bird.
