This was taken at the recommendation of many workers at Bryce Canyon..."at dawn when the light first hits the hoodoos, they light up like candles", they said. So we dragged ourselves out of our tent before dawn and found what looked like a good spot. Then arrived hundreds of eager photographers. I was squeezed against the railing by multitudes and one was a man shooting constant bursts of bracketed shots literally an inch from my ear pushing into my body. I had my first ever panic attack. But I wanted that shot! What none of us had yet recognized was that it was cloudy and the necessary dawn light never happened. This was the best I got along with a clear reminder to myself NEVER to shoot such a popular sight!
Thanks to all for taking my orange slice and my water drop world shots to the PP and for such wonderful support.
Love the light and shadow on this natural wonder! But I understand about being pressed by the crowd and panic... congrats on all the wonderful photos you have had make it to the PP in recent weeks!
