Beautiful sunny day yesterday which made the lighting tricky but I love how he looks like he is hesitating before diving. I took this for the natural light black and white challenge in my mentoring group. The color version is in my flowers album.
Thanks for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs
Love this. For me this is better than the colour version. It's all about the bee? Wasp? Whatever it is! He really does look like he is going to dive off. Lovely detail on him.
@taffy@newbank@888rachel@golftragic@pamknowler Got to rush off this morning but wanted to post before I left. Interestingly enough, most of my photos look darker when I post them to 365 and I have to tweak them in picmonkey after I post, but I see the white here as well as yesterday's is brighter than in PS. I wonder why?
Will look on computer when we get home but it looks great even on phone! Details are all about the diver and the petal does look like a diving board. I like his dangling front legs!
Well done for doing an insect in b&w, and this wasp/bee is perfect for it. I feel that perhaps some detail is lost in the black on black part of the head, and it is the same in the colour version. But wonderful detail on the body, you can even see the hairs.
This does make a good b& w image Jane. He really does look like he us diving. I think though that the black background makes you loose some detail on his head. I often have to lighten a shot when I upload to 365 which has looked fine in LR. Other people have mentioned this before.
